Together with the recently elected members of our Municipal Administration, I would like to welcome you in our beautiful town.
Gumusluk located at the furthest western tip of the Bodrum Peninsula is one of the best preserved areas because of its wealth of historic, natural and cultural resources. As you may have noticed especially along the seaside, visitors are in a state of delight as they absorb the beauty in an almost surreal environment.
Another quality of our municipality is the number of painters, writers, and musicians who have chosen to reside here over the years. The integration of these artisans with the local people, who are tied to their land but have embraced this multi cultural perspective, has laid the foundation for Gumusluk to become one of the Worlds most important cultural and touristic centers.
As your local Government we are determined to utilize this state of affairs with speed in the most encompassing manner available. We are especially determined to do all that is possible to bring back for all to cherish the ancient ruins of the city of Myndos . We are ready to do what ever is needed to continue the archeological excavations which have been temporarily suspended. In addition we are ready to show and set an example for the world how modern living can be integrated within a historical environment.
Before the elections we listed and signed a “to do list” that we wanted to accomplish in order that our contingents could hold us accountable. In the same spirit we declare to all those who visit us that every time they revisit Gumusluk they will find it more beautiful, enchanting and mesmerizing.
